Path of the Exile Hack N' Slash Review

Path of the Exile is a recently released hack n' slash free to play online game designed to be played on the computer. It is of the hack n' slash genre, much like the Diablo series and Dark Alliance. Any of the six classes can be played which all start with their own unique skills. As one progress through the game bosses will be encountered, epic loot will be found, and new destructive skills will be learned.

The six classes include the Witch, Marauder, Paladin, Duelist, Ranger, and Shadow. Although each character starts with their own classes skills, there are no restrictions to what skills can be learned by each class. Some of the skills include summoning zombies and other undead beings, meteor storms, ground shaking blows, freezing auras, and rain of arrows. Skills are not learned by leveling up but instead are learned by finding the gem for that skill. Skill gems can also be leveled up giving that skill additional power.

All six classes share a massive skill tree with over a thousand unique talents ranging from bonus health, increased mana and attack speed, to more unique talents such as skills now expend health instead of mana. One skill point is awarded per level as well as from certain quests. The classes start out at separate areas but due to a common skill tree any class can build anyway they choose to. The three classes that use intellect are the witch, shadow, and paladin. The paladin is positioned between the strength using marauder and intellect using witch while the shadow is in between the dexterity using range and the intellect using witch. Each character is strategically placed to allow as many build options as possible.

As you progress through the game wave after wave of monsters will attack you dropping epic loot that can be used or sold to other players. There are currently three acts in the game with each act having a main end boss. There are three difficulties to cater to all different skill levels. The three difficulties are normal cruel and merciless. The statistics on loot are very interesting and can completely change how your character plays. Path of the Exile is a great game for casual and hardcore gamers alike. Path of the Exile has very fun and addicting gameplay that can entertain for hours on end.
